A Comprehensive Guide to Staircase Remodeling and Design

interior stairs design

To keep the steps evenly supported and prevent sagging, space stringers no more than 16 to 18 inches apart. Building a staircase is an ambitious DIY project, considering its complex measurements and cuts. Fortunately, building codes and standard techniques help take the mystery out of building stairs. These building and safety codes will guide the planning and calculations needed to begin a staircase project. While the L-shape stairs design features a flat landing, winder stairs feature triangular-shaped steps at the corner turning point. U Shaped Stairs – These stairs are common in offices and commercial areas.

Tiled Risers

Often this means building up instead of out, which means including stairways. Building designers have to include appropriate exits, which often involves stairs. She works closely with clients to ensure the vision for each project is executed seamlessly, while attention to detail is never forgotten. Whether it’s from travel, art, and even her clients, Kara is constantly drawing inspiration to create cutting-edge designs.

The London Staircase

The triangular steps along the turn make winder stairs a more attractive option in the eyes of many homeowners, adding a modern touch to a living space. They’re also ideal for smaller homes because they don’t take up a lot of space. These “long stairs” extend directly from one level of a home to the next without any turns or direction changes. Construction is relatively straightforward, making them a more affordable choice.

Freestanding Staircase

Often crafted from rich woods like oak or mahogany, the steps might be accompanied by intricately carved balusters and handrails, reflecting the meticulous artisanship of bygone eras. The warm tones of the wood, paired with the gentle creak underfoot, tell tales of generations past and memories forged. The sinuous flow of the steps, often grand in presentation, makes it a favorite for entryways and central home spaces. As one ascends or descends, the changing perspectives and angles provide a dynamic visual experience. These gravity-defying marvels, suspended in mid-air, exude an aura of magic and minimalism. Thanks to the open and spacious construction of the staircase, the free flow of this space is evident from the moment guests step inside the front door.

The Benefits of Paragon’s Metal Staircases

As long as they pass inspection, there's no rule that says your chosen staircase balusters need to be boring. Look to an ornately turned wood design to add a touch of tradition to your space, or stick with forged iron for a look that marries timeless techniques with modern sensibilities. In his own family home (seen above), designer Jeffrey Alan Marks leaned into the beachy Montecito surroundings with balusters made of sturdy rope and attached with boat cleats. Paired with wooden steps or exposed brick walls, the mesh railing provides a tactile contrast, blending the rough with the refined.

MI Design is a consortium of design professionals with project types focused on Interior Design. Founded by Lamia Maalouf, MI Design is an award-winning, detail-oriented, and professional design firm. Its mission is to provide personal attention while offering a high level of design that adheres to the client’s aesthetic and budgetary goals. A fourth-generation Los Angeles native, Interior Designer Oliver M. Furth is a fixture in his city.

At their most basic definition, treads are what you step on to climb your staircase. These horizontal pieces are typically a standard depth—10 to 11 inches at a minimum—to allow for easy (and thoughtless!) use of the staircase. Embrace raw authenticity with an industrial mesh railing flanking your staircase. Born from the gritty essence of factories and warehouses, this design brings rugged charm to contemporary spaces. This design marvel doesn’t just connect levels; it celebrates space and volume.

Add to that a rope railing, and this staircase sets the tone for the fun to be had below. A geometric-pattern stair runner boosts both the comfort and style of this staircase. In addition to providing softness and warmth underfoot, the runner also prevents walkers from slipping on the potentially slick wooden treads. A dark paint color on the risers and stringer of this staircase matches the rest of the trim in the foyer. The dark base helps both the wood on the staircase and the art above to stand out against the white-painted walls.

Before noon, there’s a delicious breakfast burrito and French toast, and a small selection of desserts and sides (we recommend the chicharrones made with tofu skin). A cold case towards the back also offers packages of housemade deli meats, if you’re interested in bringing home a taste of Maciel’s. A beautiful, impossibly crackly focaccia crust bookends the delicious creations at this blink-and-you’ll-miss-it sandwich pop-up inside Santa Monica’s JuneShine. Despite the limited hours (Wed–Fri noon–5pm), the distinctive housemade bread—plus the prospect of a proper Bread Head storefront along Montana Avenue by summer’s end—translates into a superb Westside lunch destination and soon-to-be top L.A.

It’s made by La Carniceria Wagyu and doubles as a halal butcher shop. Staff start by spreading a whole-grain thousand island mustard hybrid dressing on marbled bread, layer it with the highest grade A5 Wagyu and Fontina cheese, add fig onion marmalade, and place it in the oven so that it’s ridiculously piping hot. The house-made pickled sauerkraut and pickled chili relish help make this hearty sandwich one of LA’s best. Maciel’s Plant-Based Butcher & Deli is the vegan sandwich shop LA didn’t know it needed.

Attari Sandwich Shop

Stuffed with ultra-ripe avocado, queso fresco, salsa, onions and your choice of meat (or tofu), Don Adrian’s sandwiches punch well above their weight class, especially once you throw in the supplemental Oaxacan string cheese. There's also a few tofu-based options for vegetarian and vegans. The Godmother at Bay Cities is one of those dishes that you have to try before you can really call yourself an Angeleno.

The best sandwiches in Los Angeles

Attari Sandwich Shop is a humble eatery that showcases traditional cuisine nestled in the vibrant neighborhood of Westwood. With its modest surroundings, this establishment has earned a reputation as one of the oldest and finest Persian sandwich shops in Los Angeles. Attari Sandwich Shop takes pride in its expertise in crafting specialty sandwiches and kebabs. Additionally, they offer a range of delectable sides such as kashke bademjon (eggplant dip), sabzi (fresh herbs), and a cheese plate accompanied by sabzi and torshi (pickles). Their kabobs are served with sangak bread, a traditional Iranian flatbread, alongside sabzi, onions, and grilled tomatoes, enhancing the succulent meats' flavors.

This little gem of a restaurant is not so noticeable driving by, because the front of it is a small patio with water feature and the restaurant itself is tucked away. But they’ve created an inviting atmosphere with the space. Their sandwiches are absolutely the best Persian sandwiches you’ve ever tasted.

Dr. Sandwich – Mediterranean Eats – Los Angeles, CA

A small market specializing in Southern goods and Cajun delicacies fills a large space that’s primarily dedicated to producing some of the finest sandwiches this side of the Mississippi (or at least L.A.). The fluffy egg salad would be a hot commodity on the school lunch trading market, especially when that same filling is dolloped on top of a fried shrimp cutlet with cabbage. For something sweet, the fruit sandwiches (like sliced mango suffocated by whipped cream or strawberry with Oreo crumbs) are just as good.

Among their specialty sandwiches, they offer the Kuku sandwich, featuring sabzi (herbs), and the Potato Kotlet sandwich, which showcases a potato cutlet. Italian chef-owners Francesco Lucatorto and Francesca Pistorio crowdsourced recipes from their friends’ family traditions, including a decades-old one for a crackly, bright yellow focaccia. At Ceci's, the flatbread comes stuffed with meatballs, frittatas, zucchini parm or caponata—a delightfully tangy, plant-based mix of eggplants, onions, celery and olives.

In the year-long process of updating this guide, I tried over 150 sandwiches from 50 different purveyors—so you can trust that I've seen it all when it comes to all things nestled between two slices of bread. Without further ado, here are L.A.’s very best sandwich shops (excluding the bagel and fried chicken varieties, which deserve lists all of their own)—because the humble sandwich is worth celebrating every day of the year. Out in Whittier, there’s nothing quite like Aaron and Sarah Melendrez’s cozy neighborhood deli and gourmet mini-mart, where the made-to-order sandwiches use bread from Bellflower’s Hey Brother Baker and a slate of chef-preferred ingredients. Think mouth-watering navel cut pastrami from RC Provisions (who also supply Langer’s and Brent’s, albeit tailored to each shop’s preferences), line-caught wild tuna and smoked Kurobuta ham.

Choose between the standard pastrami, which is available on its own, and the cult favorite Black Pastrami Reuben, which seems to be what everyone orders here. Slices of the brined, smoked and steamed meat with extra seasoned edges are piled between a layer each of Swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Russian dressing and two slices of grilled rye bread. Request extra lean or even fatty meat if that's what you prefer in your pastrami, but one thing we love about Brent's pastrami is that it's flavorful and juicy without any of the residual grease. Katsu Sando opened in 2021 with long lines and a rabid fanbase that first learned to love the Japanese convenience store sandwiches from Daniel Son at Smorgasburg. We are hooked on Mendocino Farms for lunch at Joe's Brakes and Muffler where I work. My head mechanic likes the spicy chicken sandwich my other mechanic likes the Peruvian steak sandwich, but my absolute favorite go to is the most delicious chicken caprese sandwich.

Savvy customers make their way across the sawdust-covered floor to select a traditional lamb, beef or turkey filling, then ask their server to double-dip the bread in the meaty juice; add some of the sinus-clearing house mustard and you’re golden. A bevy of sides include coleslaw, macaroni and potato salad, hard-boiled eggs and pickles—all to be eaten in the midst of friendly strangers, whom you’ll inevitably wind up talking to. Arguably the most iconic sandwich in Los Angeles, the Godmother is a classic Italian deli house-baked roll filled with Boar’s Head deli meats, cheese, mustard, and veggies. Though other excellent sandwiches — especially the hot variety — are available behind the Bay Cities counter, the Godmother is the most talked about and a must-try for every Angeleno. Jeff Strauss had a TV producer and writer career before meandering into sandwich creation in Highland Park, where he serves sandwiches, salads, and more inside Flask liquor store. It’s a hearty beast of a hot sandwich with smoky pastrami, melted Comte, sauerkraut, a house Russian dressing, a perfect gruyere crisp on a griddled, seeded rye bread.

If you are a Persian, definitely you going to love this place. Nostalgic restaurants with popular style dishes and sandwiches in Iran. The restaurant is not big but has an outdoor sitting area. Philippe the Original is a renowned French Dipped Sandwich shop in Los Angeles. With a rich history and the distinction of being the longest-operating sandwich shop in the city, Philippe's holds a special place in the hearts of locals. Their signature dish is the Oven-roasted Pastrami, featuring tender pastrami piled high on a lightly textured French Roll.

She layers nuggets of tempura-fried fish “of the moment” with kosho-spiked tartar sauce and a bright cabbage slaw tossed with a punchy yuzu dressing. The fish can also be ordered roasted, but the crispity crunchiness of the fried version is supremely satisfying. Had heard about this place from back in the day and while on vacation in LA finally decided to try it, It pretty much lives up to its name, They're double dipped French dip sandwiches and they're pretty damn good! Actually I'd say one of the better French dips I've ever had, It's worth coming here to try it out. Also like the steak fries And the general atmosphere is pretty nice.

All the way from Montclair, NJ, Ggiata and its owners bring the best of Jersey deli culture to Los Angeles. The eggplant Parm doesn’t miss, and neither do all the bits of Jersey-core decor in this sandwich shop. Fast-food-style fried fish sandwiches abound in Los Angeles, but Kat Turner’s Fish (Don’t Have) Fingers sandwich elevates the seafood sandwich to an art.

The dipping process sets their sandwiches apart, where the roll is dipped in the natural gravy of the roasts, resulting in an incredibly flavorful experience. Guests can choose from single-dipped, double-dipped, or wet flavors for their pastrami dip, tailoring the intensity of the flavors to their liking. They also offer various cheese options to complement their sandwiches, including Swiss, American, cheddar, Monterey Jack, or blue cheese, ensuring everything satisfies every palate. For those dining with a group, they offer a convenient Four-person meal pack featuring bread and meat for four beef dips, with a choice of cheese. They provide a range of sides, soups, salads, and desserts to round out the dining experience.

While you can continue to get the French dip-style version that uses thinly cut pastrami, the move here is the thick-cut pastrami served on Tartine marble rye, which can be further jazzed up with reuben toppings, mustard or coleslaw. The sandwich makes for a satisfying meal, especially when paired with drinks from the bar next door, but it’s also a particularly great late-night snack—Johnny’s stays open until midnight every day it’s open, unlike the other pastrami purveyors on this list. Inside, a gourmet market offers Italian specialty foods, like fresh pasta, olive oil and cheeses. But really, you’re going to come here and not get a sandwich? But now that the city has gotten a taste of Maciel Bañales-Luna’s incredible creations, there’s no turning back. While all of the sandwiches stuffed with scratch-made proteins are hearty and flavorful, it’s the jackfruit-filled flores that never fails to satisfy. Imbued with Mexican chiles, tomatoes, spices, and a little maple syrup, the jackfruit’s smoky and spicy profile is not-to-be-missed. Eagle Rock Italian Bakery & Deli opened in 1949, and though the sandwich counter is busy, the shop’s massive counter dedicated to dessert and pastry is worth a look.

Istanbul Cuisine is a Turkish food stand at Bellevue Square Mall, and they're one of the best quick lunch options on the Eastside. Please note that we are temporarily offering an abbreviated menu. Sign up for our email to enjoy Los Angeles without spending a thing (as well as some options when you’re feeling flush).

This chef-driven Koreatown café specializes in delicious riffs on the city’s immigrant cuisines, all sandwiched between two slices of bread. Made with Clark Street baguettes and housemade milkbread, Open Market’s gluten-anchored spins on Thai satay (the Olympic), Hainan chicken (the Alhambra) and Korean kimbap (the Kenmore) distill an array of second-generation foodways into an excellent lunch. The most popular item, however, is the Normandie, which draws inspiration from Phillipe’s famous French dip.

A separate natural wine and market section stocks artisan goods like Awan ice cream, and best of all (at least for those not within walking distance), there’s two hours of free validated parking in the underground lot just off Catalina. Tucked away in a garden-patio oasis just south of UCLA, this delightful sandwich shop takes complex Persian cuisine and serves it in the middle of a simple American-style hoagie. Dressed with tomato, mayo, pickles and a lettuce-and-parsley mix, the sandwiches are served out of a small shop that might be crowded with fans watching soccer games. Great vegetarian options like the kuku sabzi (comparable to a frittata) and the olivieh (a potato-and-egg salad) share the menu with brain and tongue. That tongue sandwich—braised til soft and seasoned wonderfully—is rightly famous, but any option at Attari is going to be a great choice. You can order a decent version of these Puebla-style tortas at your neighborhood taco truck, but you’d miss out on the perfectly constructed, absolutely gargantuan creations at this Van Nuys lunch staple.

You can also opt for the house special sandwiches made with imported salumi, including the Il Mortazza. The mortadella, grilled eggplant, burrata and arugula make for a one-in-a-million bite that’s creamy, fatty, earthy and balanced all at once. With either style you choose, the bread comes nicely warmed and generously slathered with housemade pate and mayonnaise, particularly on the banh mi dac biet, the trio of cold cuts by which Vietnamese sandwich shops are judged. The housemade bread makes every bit of difference here; Hue Thai’s version skips cucumbers but piles on the jalapeno slices and pickled vegetables. The prices also can’t be beat—it’s around $6 for one sandwich. While you’re at it, I recommend picking up some summer rolls, banh beo (savory steamed tapioca rice cakes) or a few trays of Vietnamese sweets to take home.

Just note that they sell out quickly, so be sure to get here before 10am. Massive rolls of telera—the traditional Mexican torta roll—rule the day at this popular South L.A. The most popular sandwich here is the torta cubano, a meaty mix of ham, milanesa (fried chicken cutlet), chorizo, egg, hot dogs and a few kinds of cheese, plus avocado, jalapeños and tomato. Regardless of which Mexico City-style sandwich you get, however, the cheese manages to melt from the freshly cooked meat, melding the entire sandwich together into a wondrous smorgasbord of texture and flavor. Immaculately crafted charcuterie boards put this sister-run wine and cheese shop on the map, but did you know that Lady & Larder also makes some of the best sandwiches in Santa Monica?

Made fresh daily by Jordan Snyder and Alex Williams—formerly of Ludo Lefebvre’s now-closed Trois Mec—each bread slice’s golden, buttery half combines with high-quality meats, luscious cheeses and a mélange of flavorful spreads. Though the pair rotate through six menu items at a time, our go-to evergreen option is the Mozzarella, which pairs the namesake soft cheese with pickled red onions, sliced avocado, alfalfa sprouts and a creamy za’atar mayo. This beloved North Hollywood lunch spot serves unique Armenian-influenced subs, salads and wraps that are worth the drive from elsewhere. Classic sandwich fillings like egg salad, roast chicken and pastrami are given a twist with Armenian-influenced seasonings, sauces, pickles and peppers. Wholly original sandwiches like the ground turkey patty with basil (Kotlette), or shredded chicken with serrano chiles (Foreman's Special), are served—like the classics—on a fresh-baked Armenian soft roll.

This family-run Chinatown staple has made excellent Italian sandwiches for over 60 years—and been around for even longer. Here, you can find the same textbook combination of mortadella, salami, capicola and provolone that has kept this old-school spot around for generations. The spicy Italian cold cut, which adds hot peppers to the mix. Alongside this standard-bearer you can also get Chicago-style beef (a newer item inspired by The Bear), a mean chicken parm and a host of generously portioned hot sandwiches filled with meatballs, sausage and pastrami that you can definitely share with a friend. In business since 1908, Philippe the Original claims to have invented the famed French dip—and whether or not you believe them, there’s no denying the eatery slings an exemplary sandwich.

While these crustless triangles look almost too perfect to eat, don’t let that stop you from attempting to buy the place out. Head to Inglewood for a taste of the Big Easy here in the City of Angels. Order any of the po’ boys at Sami Othman’s neighborhood spot, including ones stuffed to maximum capacity with shrimp, oysters, and catfish, as your taste buds are whisked away to Bourbon Street. This is when you realize how affective the word of mouth can be.

Design Planning 101 A Step-by-Step Guide

defining design principles

As I’ve gone out in the community and talked about the process we went through, I’ve been asked “How do we define ours? Map the product’s interactions and actions to understand user goals, define user journeys, and identify touchpoints where users engage with the interface. Wireframes serve as a blueprint for the final design and focus on the arrangement of content, functionality, and user interactions.

Designing intuitive and user-friendly interfaces

Where emphasis draws the viewer's attention to specific elements in an obvious way, movement is more subtle. In this simplistic yet elegant design, a contrast in colors adds depth of field and distance between objects. These are the principles of design to enhance your creative genius. It provides breathing room between other design elements to highlight spaciousness. Also known as brightness, value determines how light or dark colors are. It creates depth and mood by showing how light and shadow fall on objects.

What is Design Thinking and Why Is It So Popular?

Objects, text, their size, and shape, color and texture, all have weight, which is important to distribute on your composition with care and evenly. Defining our design principles also required us to distinguish them from TXI's company values. Our principles needed to exist within that set, not in contrast to it.

What are the 5 Stages of the Design Thinking Process

And not every digital experience we design will incorporate all five principles each and every time. Our design principles are aspirational intentions not strict rules. They give us five different ways to think about a problem statement and five different aims to assess against throughout a project. There's an inherent complexity to defining design principles because its impossible for them to mean the exact same thing to every person. This was made possible, in large part, by our guest facilitator, Valerie Craig. You can stay true to this principle of design by using similar colors, shapes, textures, and elements that appear consistently throughout your communication.

The goal is cohesion, not consistency

The elements of visual design — line, shape, negative/white space, volume, value, colour and texture — describe the building blocks of a product’s aesthetics. On the other hand, the principles of design tell us how these elements can and should go together for the best results. Many of the principles below are closely related and complement one another. Design principles are a set of guidelines that help designers create more aesthetically pleasing and functional designs. Design principles are usually not written down formally, but instead, they are learned through observation and practice. This is because there is no one set of design principles that applies to all designs.

These are the building blocks that form the visuals and structure. Proportion refers to the relative size and scale of elements in the design. It's essential for making things look three-dimensional and also adds direction and hierarchy.

We had an idea to visualize the pyramid with pictures of examples next to it. I thought about burgers and how they have bread, meat, and sauce. I replaced “meat” with “ingredients,” as it presents psychological needs better. I set up a second meeting and asked everyone to write down their principles on sticky notes. Then we all put them up on the wall to group them and rank their importance. Write them, review them, edit them, share them with the team.

The 12 principles of design to consider in creating great designs

Create refreshing pops in the sea of brand guidelines and color guides. Your brand intends to reach out to the masses, and if you do not have a design that can successfully achieve this, everything is in vain. Rhythm lets you pick a style where you can consistently deliver valuable information to customers with a smaller learning arch.

Have a clear hierarchy

For example, daylight constantly alters how we perceive colors, and different light sources like incandescent, LED, or fluorescent can shift color appearances. Also, colors can appear different depending on their background, a phenomenon known as simultaneous contrast. For an in-depth exploration of color's impact on design, watch the insightful video by Joann Eckstut on the topic. Have an easy-to-scan visual hierarchy that reflects users’ needs, with commonly used items handily available. Proportion adds order and perspective, creating a relationship between elements. Also known as direction, movement uses elements to lead the eyes from one location to another.

Proportion is the relative size of the design elements compared to each other. It comes organically once you’re done with your contrast and balance. You can have the word “up to” smaller just above the most important element of your poster, to keep the visual hierarchy. This is the second function of emphasis – reducing the impact of the information, you don’t want to catch the eye of your audience first. For example, if you’re designing any kind of logo, you can create contrast with a pink background, blue or green elements, and white text.

We see the whole formed by the dotted lines first, before perceiving the separate dotted lines in each of the images. In paint, colours mix subtractively because the pigments in paints absorb light. When different pigments are mixed together, the mixture absorbs a wider range of light, resulting in a darker colour.

During the process, you may find some people talking about brand, and others talk about design. The results from these exercises will help you to form an understanding of the outcomes you’d like your principles to achieve. Design principles can also be specific to a certain context, for example, Apple have put together a set of 6 Design Principles specifically for the iOS 11 version of their iPhone platform software. Dieter Rams had a big influence on Jonny Ive, an English industrial designer who is currently the Chief Design Officer (CDO) of Apple and chancellor of the Royal College of Art in London.

A portfolio is essential if you want to step into or move ahead in a career in the world of human-centered design. Depending on time constraints, you will gather a substantial amount of information to use during the next stage. Design thinking is a broader framework that borrows methods from human-centered design to approach problems beyond the design discipline. It encourages people with different backgrounds and expertise to work together and apply the designer’s way of thinking to generate innovative solutions to problems. In this video, Laura Klein, author of Build Better Products, describes a typical challenge designers face on agile teams.

defining design principles

In some cases, people will want to carry across some of the words you already have, and you can shape them to be relevant to design. UXPin Merge bridges the gap between design and development to simplify design planning and product development. Meredith stresses that DesignOps can streamline workflows, create design systems, and foster collaboration across teams, which helps in moving forward with deliverables. Meredith Black, a DesignOps consultant, added that design teams often face bottlenecks and inefficiencies due to fragmented processes, communication gaps, and resource constraints. The panelists shared insights on the challenges design teams face and how DesignOps can address these challenges. Design planning is a strategic project planning process of outlining and organizing the design approach for a digital product.

It is also a great way to set focus before building a new product or service or when onboarding new designers. Before writing your design principles, you need to identify the values essential for the success of your product or service. These important values may have been captured in vision statements or project briefs.

In many ways, our principles offer tangible examples of how our company values look in practice, applied to design. Where our values hold us accountable as people, our principles hold our work accountable. Part of the problem we faced was figuring out what "right" or "great" even meant for TXI—especially when design manifests so differently client to client and product to product. What works for a food innovator like Tyson looks completely different than what works for a news service like Accuweather. Design principles are typically tied to a product, not the in-house team building it.

house party

News of a party may be spread by personal invitations, word of mouth, posted leaflets, or notices on social networking sites. Broad notice of a party – sometimes unintentionally – can result in large numbers of people attending who do not know the host personally and may be disruptive. A person who attends a house party but has not been invited is typically referred to as a "gatecrasher", particularly if the party is only open to invited guests; they are usually perceived negatively but may nonetheless be welcomed by the host. As everyone’s favorite party guest, perhaps it should come as no surprise that Snoop Dogg would make a cameo in House Party. The Doggfather appears in a scene where LeBron, after registering the surprise of a house party at his home during his absence, admonishes Snoop for smoking indoors. The original House Party follows a high school student named Kid, who, after a run-in with bullies and getting in trouble at school, is forbidden by his father from going to a house party that his best friend Play is hosting.

House Party (2023 film)

"We’re trying out some ideas for musicians to be cast in and to be a part of the project," Carter said.[16] Los Angeles filmmaker Calmatic, known for directing "Old Town Road", was tapped to direct in 2019. In April 2021, Jorge Lendeborg Jr. and Tosin Cole were cast in the lead roles.[17] This would be SpringHill's last feature film. On July 28, 2021, Jacob Latimore was cast to replace Lendeborg Jr., who dropped out of the film due to his mental well-being. The House Party franchise consists of American comedies, based on a short film written/directed by Reginald Hudlin in 1990. The franchise consists of the original short film, three theatrical releases (the first film and its first two sequels), two straight-to-home video sequels, and one theatrical continuation movie. The plot additionally involves these characters' attempts to fame, in the Hip-hop/Rap music industry.

LeBron James

In Los Angeles, Kevin and Damon are two best friends who work as house cleaners and aspiring club promoters; Kevin also aspires to make music and get a steady income to support himself and his young daughter Destiny. The two of them are dropped from a promotion gig by Kyle and his gang (Guile and Larry) due to Damon having illicit involvement with Guile's cousin. While the two of them are working at a mansion, Kevin is informed by his childhood friend and current supervisor Venus that he and Damon will be fired due to cameras catching them goofing off on the job. Damon finds out that the mansion they are cleaning belongs to LeBron James, who is in India on a two-week meditation retreat, and proposes that he and Kevin host a party there for LeBron's celebrity contacts.

Critics Reviews

Kevin, now desperate for money due to him knowing he's fired and not starting his new IT job for another 2 months hesitantly joins in on the plan. Kevin asks Venus to supply him and Damon with the keys to the mansion, and she very reluctantly agrees. House parties have become a prominent feature in popular movies, particularly movies aimed at teenagers. While many have probably been present before the movie, The Party is one of the first to properly provide a scene of a house party.[2] However, the most popular film later on is House Party, featuring the hip-hop duo Kid 'n Play. The mythology surrounding King James looms large over this film, as not only a producer and co-star in the film, but especially because the movie’s premise revolves around a rowdy house party thrown in James’ L.A.

Damon and Kevin find out that LeBron's ring has been stolen, and try desperately to find it. Kid Cudi tells them that the Illuminati possesses a copy of every sports championship ring, and the duo are desperate enough to take up his offer. Venus volunteers to run the party in their absence, and she and Kevin kiss.

Walter Emanuel Jones

Two desperate players try to stage the ultimate party at LeBron James's house, but the movie lacks the innocence — and the laughs — of its predecessor. However, upon reading Kid Cudi's poem, LeBron has a change of heart and works to get Damon released early from his jail sentence, following which he is picked up by Mya. Kyle and his gang are arrested after trying to sell LeBron's ring and the party causes Kevin to gain recognition and make money from his music.

Unlike other video chat apps such as Zoom and Skype, Houseparty lets 'party members' play interactive quizzes and games during calls. If you're wondering how to use Houseparty, you've come to the right place. The video chat app is a popular choice among teens right now for staying in touch with friends while stuck at home.

Cast

The stars of the original House Party movie make a brief, but memorable cameo in the 2023 remake at the Illuminati party, where they are recognized by Kevin and Damon. In addition to the first House Party movie, the rap duo also starred in two of the franchise’s sequels and appeared on the television show, Martin. With the premise being a party being thrown at his former teammate’s mansion, perhaps it should come as no surprise that NBA player Tristan Thompson would make an appearance in the film. Thompson, who won an NBA championship with LeBron James in 2016 while playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, makes his cameo in a scene where a security guard mistakes his championship ring for LeBron’s ring, which has gone missing at the party. In the film, protagonist Damon harbors a longtime celebrity crush on the singer and dancer Mýa. He finally gets to shoot his shot after he invites her to his house party (with a little help from LeBron James’ address book), where she appears, as herself.

We actually still get a kick thinking about a young Martin Lawrence being told in the movie that he has "dragon breath." And we can't be the only ones who have actually done the Kid 'n Play dance routine at a party or two (even as a joke). It's in the vein of such nostalgia that many would-be viewers will be watching the Lebron James-produced reboot when it debuts. The president visits the Washington Hilton frequently, and the Secret Service has the security operation there down to a “science,” according to the official. The hotel was the site of the assassination attempt on then-President Ronald Reagan in 1981, an event that led to many changes in presidential security protocols. “More than 100-plus journalists have been killed because they are exposing war crimes. And there’s been the bare minimum of speaking up for them from the Western media,” she said.

Certain to puncture some egos and boost others, Fox News Channel’s Jimmy Failla will host Fox News Saturday Night from the WHCD red carpet from 9-11 p.m. Set to sit down with other FNC talents like White House correspondent Peter Doocy and Fox News Sunday anchor Shannon Bream, Failla will also offer commentary on both Biden and Jost’s remarks.

In Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a sijelo (in Ijekavian), silo (in Ikavian) or selo (In Ekavian) is an evening social gathering at a house. Before getting started, make sure you download Houseparty on your device of preference. The app is well-suited for mobile, but can be used on your computer, too. The film received seven nominations at the 1991 Independent Spirit Awards.[15] Film director Reginald Hudlin was nominated for Best Director), Christopher "Kid" Reid was nominated for Best Male Lead), Tisha Campbell and A.J. Johnson were both nominated for Best Supporting Female), Robin Harris was nominated for Best Supporting Male), and the film's cinematographer Peter Deming was nominated for the Best Cinematography. The two are about to have sex there when she stops him, wanting to know if she is simply his second choice.

It opened in March 1990 and helped to launch the spirit of the ’90s — something at once edgy and optimistic, infused with a rogue bravura that was made to conquer. Hip-hop had been on the rise for a decade, and by the late ’80s the preeminence of N.W.A. and Public Enemy had brought an ominous new profound power to hip-hop. In the summer of 1989, Spike Lee released “Do the Right Thing,” and that movie, with its fight-the-power core, was of course a Black cinematic apotheosis suffused with equal parts exuberance and trauma.

If you’re ready to kick back and relive the fun of “House Party,” here’s everything you need to know about the comedy when it comes out Friday, Jan. 13. Because of the controversial nature of the game, it was quickly popularized by gaming streamers and influencers such as the Game Grumps[9], PewDiePie[10], Jacksepticeye[11], NerdCubed[12], MattShea[13], and others. Games held a competition to invite members of the public to audition to be included as part of the game with the gaming community to vote for their favorite. Of the entrants, two winners would be selected, one from the male entrants and other from the female entrants. On November 2, 2018, it was announced that streamer and influencer 'Lety Does Stuff'[8] and the members of Game Grumps, Arin Hanson and Dan Avidan, were selected as the winners.

NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. appears as himself in a scene at the raucous party, where he’s cautioned against dancing lest he injure himself before the football season starts. It’s not the first time that Beckham has had an acting role as himself; he also made an appearance as himself for the television show, Ballers. Producer Hit-Boy has made music with the likes of Beyoncé, Kanye West, and Drake, so it’s no wonder that Kevin, an aspiring music producer, is nervous to play his music in front of him at the party. While Hit-Boy, who appears as himself, is not initially impressed with Kevin’s beats, he later works with Kevin and Big Sean. Since this is a Warner Bros. film, it will likely be streaming on HBO Max sometime between 45 and 90 days from release. So expect it on the streaming service at the end of February at the earliest.

Protests inside the event itself are much less common and perhaps unprecedented, given the tight security, and people involved in organizing the protests said they knew of no plans to try to infiltrate the exclusive invite-only dinner. The concentration of lawmakers, media personalities and the president and his retinue in one place have long made the dinner an attractive target for activists looking to take advantage of a high-profile Washington event.
